How many people dream of having a free home based internet business? I don’t know the answer, but what I do know is that according to reports I read 96% of “would be” internet marketers fail to make any money.

Ok, so I’ve outlined the problem, now what’s the solution?

Stop chasing the dream of becoming an internet marketer overnight and start targeting real markets where real people buy real products. Real world companies are offering you the opportunity to affiliate with them at absolutely no cost. All you need to do is direct people to their products. Real products in the real world where people want to spend their money.

There’s real money to be made in niche marketing and the best news of all is that you can get started without spending a dime. Often referred to as “Bum Marketing” this approach is great for work-at-home-mums, or absolutely anyone who needs to make money, but doesn’t have spare cash to invest.

The secret to making this work is keyword research or as I prefer key-phrase research. For those who are completely new to this, the simple approach is to find specific search terms people are typing in to Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. These phrases will return relevant results in response to the query and are the route to your success.

By creating articles and submitting them to article directories, creating hub pages, squidoo lenses or by using any of the other web 2.0 platforms it is easy to rank highly in the search engines and get traffic to your affiliate link.
