9 Ways to Make Money with Website Design

Do you consider yourself a non-techie? Don’t feel so bad. You can still design your own website by following these 9 ways:

1. Brush up your HTML skills. You can read web designing books and register yourself to online courses. Even just some basic knowledge will help you greatly once you decide to design your site.

2. Plan your website. Before designing your site, make sure you already have a layout of how it will probably look like. It will definitely save you a big amount of time.

3. Develop a theme. You can relate the overall design of your website to your online business. It may be ideal to settle for simple tones and professional-looking themes.

4. Know what your target visitors want. Internet visitors would love easy-to-use websites. Thus, make sure that every page is navigable.

5. Skip heavy files. As much as possible, stay away from JavaScript and Flash files. They can only slow down your download time and eat up a lot of bandwidth.

6. Make sure your text is readable. Use light-colored texts if you are using dark backgrounds. Font size should be large enough so Internet users won’t have to squint their eyes.

7. Avoid all caps. Caps only signify shouting, and you don’t like your visitors to feel insulted or threatened. If you want to emphasize some portions of your website, use boldface or italics instead.

8. Delete dead links. If there are some links that are not working anymore, make sure that you can fix them. Otherwise, remove the entire page. It gives bad impression to your visitors.

9. Everything should have a reason. Don’t simply add articles, videos, or even audio just for the sake of having content. They should be relevant to the overall theme of your website. Or else, you’re only wasting your web storage space.
