Feeling Discouraged With Affiliate Marketing?
If you are like most people you probably started affiliate marketing with high hopes. Odds are you happened upon a sales page for an affiliate marketing e-book or something promising you that you were going to get rich overnight and never have to lift a single finger to do any work. So you probably bought the book (ignoring that little voice in the back of your mind telling you that if it sounds too good to be true it probably is) and started doing what it recommended.
Sure, you may have made a sale or two here or there, but somehow the “overnight riches” that the e-book promised you just aren’t rolling in. Or worse – you have spent a ton of money on advertising and haven’t even seen a single sale. Now you are out not just the cost of the book, but the cost of the advertising as well. It’s no wonder that you might be feeling discouraged with affiliate marketing and be questioning whether or not it really works.
Well, the good news is that affiliate marketing does work and that many, many people are making a lot of money with it. The bad news is that the book that you bought is probably only giving you part of the picture or teaching outdated techniques that used to work but no longer do.
See, the truth about affiliate marketing is that while it is a lot easier to make money with it than with most other online businesses, it does require a fair amount of work to get up and running with it. Not only that, but to succeed you have to have the whole picture of what makes an advertising campaign successful – not just part of the picture like most books give you. Along with that you also have to have drive, ambition and a desire to succeed. You have to commit yourself to learning the process, taking action, knowing that you will have failures along the way but determining that you will learn from your failures and move on instead of just giving up and throwing in the towel.
Once you have your first success with affiliate marketing, all the successes that come after that are much easier to achieve. That’s why you usually either see people who are making no money with affiliate marketing or people who are making tons of money with it. Very rarely do you find someone in the middle ground who is just moderately successful with affiliate marketing.
So basically what it boils down to is that to succeed as an affiliate, you need to learn what you should be doing, put what you have learned into action, be willing to fail and learn from your mistakes, and once you find a successful technique repeat it over and over again to grow your profits. If you can do these things you can find success with affiliate marketing and become one of the people who makes a lot of money with it. Otherwise you will just keep struggling along like you have been.
